Marc Gené returns this weekend to his most beloved circuit, the track that made him the first Spanish driver to win Le Mans 24 Hours, the mythical endurance race. And he returns there with the sole intention of winning again even knowing that this will be a difficult achievement. His trajectory at Le Mans is quite impressive with a first and second position with only 3 intends.
On this occasion, Marc will team up with Anthony Davidson and Alez Wurz, two drivers with large experience. They took part at Le Mans Series race in Spa and showed they were perfectly integrated.
"I am very enthusiastic about the race. To be back here is quite exiting as I have very special memories. However, I do not want to get obsessed about the victory and do our best in the race to try to repeat again. Peugeot has worked very hard and I think the team has many chances of winning. We'll see how we are compared to our main competitors Audi and Aston Martin and try to have as less problems as possible during the race. "
The Ferrari test driver, who will make the start added: "Although we are the favourites as we won the last edition, this race is unpredictable. The weather conditions with unstable weather forecasted will be key. If it rains, the night will be decisive. The qualifying will help us to see where we are, but I do not think it is decisive in a race that long. I am happy to make the start as this is the only part I have not done before and Wurz will be responsible for the qualifying. I am optimistic and confident and I am looking forward to starting the race. "
