Marc Gene at Ferrari’s official presentation of the F10 in Maranello
Ferrari did his official presentation in Maranello. As usual, it was a serious but stylish presentation of its new F10 (last year was called F60 due to Ferrari’s 60th anniversary) and Marc Gene attended if for the fifth consecutive year. As test driver he had similar feelings to his first one, when he joined a recent World Champion team with Schumi in it and was dressed in red for the first time. On this occasion, he felt particularly special again as he was there with his fellow country man, Alonso, and with Spanish Santander bank as main sponsor.
“Each year has been very special, but this one has been particularly unique with Alonso and Santander. I truly think we have a great team this season and the atmosphere in the team is excellent. We have worked very hard to evolve a good car, although we still need to see what the others have done”, explained Marc who highlighted that the main different this year is that the car is a bit longer due to the new capacity of the petrol tank.
“Unfortunately we have not been able to test the car after the presentation due to the weather conditions. However, we will do it next week in the first official tests at Valencia circuit. Our main competitors will be there and it will be a good time to see where we are compare to the rest. I am looking forward to being there and see how Massa and Alonso perform with our new F10.”
Ferrari will try to be again at the top with an excellent tandem integrated by Alonso and Massa. Ferrari wants the tifosi to be happy again with a winner team. At the presentation, Luca Di Montezemolo, Ferrari’s president said: “2009 has been one of the most difficult years in our history, but we certainly think we will be soon at the top again with a very competitive car and with Massa and Alonso with us.”
